Section LXXXV-1001 - Purpose and ScopeA. The rules of professional conduct shall govern the professional conduct of the members of the veterinary profession in the state of Louisiana. These rules of professional conduct shall be cumulative of all laws of the state of Louisiana relating to the professional conduct of veterinarians and to the practice of veterinary medicine in this state, and shall include the American Veterinary Medical Association's Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics. In the event the Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics contradict the Louisiana Veterinary Practice Act and/or the board's rules, the latter shall govern.B. If any provision of these rules or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, this invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the rules which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications; and to this end, the provisions of these rules are declared severable.La.
