Section LXX-502 - Statement of Findings and PurposesA. The board of has always had a strong commitment to the safety of the public. In order to carry out its mission, the board has established this policy regarding drug and alcohol abuse. The board's goal will continue to be one of establishing and maintaining a work environment that is free from the effects of alcohol and drug abuse.B. While the board has no intention of intruding into the private lives of bar pilots, the board does expect bar pilots to report for work in a condition capable of performing their duties. The board recognizes that off-the-job, as well as on-the-job, involvement with alcohol and drugs can have an impact on the work place and on a bar pilot's ability to perform his duties.La. Admin.
