Section XXVII-503 - Horizontal DatumA. All horizontal control densification shall be based upon the Louisiana State Plane Coordinate System, North and South Zones, 1701 and 1702, respectively, and referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83), latest adjustment, as established and published by the National Geodetic Survey (NGS).B. Optional survey references may be established between the NAD 83 datum and the previous NAD 27 datum for correlation of archival horizontal control data. However, coordinate transformation programs or computational techniques shall not be used to convert coordinates from one datum to another without local field survey network verification.La. Admin.
