Section II-517 - SubpoenasA. Convening Authority's Responsibility. The Convening Authority is responsible for assuring that witnesses sought by both government and defense are timely subpoenaed. Requests for subpoenas shall be made at the earliest practicable time to allow ample time for service. Unless otherwise directed, 30 days prior to scheduled trial is considered reasonable. [See Paragraph 4-8, Figures 5-2, 6-1 and 6-2.]B. Civilian Witnesses. Civilian personnel will not be ordered to appear as witnesses at any SCM or SPCM unless prior approval has been obtained from the SJA or his designee.La. Admin. Code tit. 41, § II-517
