Section XV-1414 - ContainersA. NORM and NORM waste shall be kept in a container that is in good or safe condition.B. The licensee shall use a container made of, or lined with, materials that will not react with, or be incompatible with, the NORM waste to be stored so that the ability of the container to contain the waste is not impaired or compromised.C. A container holding NORM waste shall always be closed and sealed during storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste.D. A container holding NORM waste shall not be opened, handled, or stored in a manner that may rupture the container or cause it to leak.E. At least quarterly, the licensee shall inspect areas where containers of NORM waste are stored, looking for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system. Records of these inspections shall be made.F. All containers of NORM waste shall be stacked in such a fashion that each container identification label can be read from the access aisle or area. Labeling of containers shall be in compliance with LAC:XV.453.G. Records of inspections pursuant to LAC 33:XV.1414.E shall be maintained by the licensee for inspection by the department for five years.La. Admin. Code tit. 33, § XV-1414
