Section V-1323 - Vehicle Markings and PlacardsA. Markings. No person may transport a hazardous waste unless the transport vehicle is marked to display: 1. the name or trademark of the carrier operating the vehicle;2. the city or place in which the carrier has its principal office or in which the vehicle is customarily based; and3. the name of the person operating the vehicle. The name of a person other than the operating carrier may appear on the vehicle as long as the words "operated by'' immediately precedes the information required by LAC 33:V.1323.A.1 and A.2. (Other identifying information may be displayed on the vehicle if it is not inconsistent with the information required by this Paragraph.)B. The marking required by LAC 33:V.1323.A must:1. appear on both sides of the vehicle;2. be in letters that contrast sharply in color with the background;3. be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of at least 50 feet while the vehicle is stationary; and4. be maintained in a manner that retains the legibility required by LAC 33:V.1323.B. (The marking may be a removable device.)C. Placarding. A transporter may not move a transport vehicle containing a hazardous waste which is also a hazardous material unless the vehicle is placarded with placards in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Public Safety or such other regulations as may be prescribed by the secretary of public safety for placarding vehicles carrying a hazardous material.La.
