Section LXXIX-117 - Instructional TimeA. Each school will adopt a calendar that includes 57,750 minutes of instructional time. A nonpublic school may modify the total number of instructional minutes per day and instructional days per year, provided that 57,750 minutes of instructional time per year are scheduled. 1. Instructional time shall include the scheduled time within the regular school day devoted to teaching courses outlined in the program of studies. Instructional time does not include such things as recess, lunch, change of class time, and parent-teacher conferences.2. Each non-public school district or independent non-public school may include in its calendar a provision for dismissal of high school senior students prior to the end of the school year. This provision is not to exceed 10 days of instructional time or the equivalent number of minutes, in accordance with minimum attendance requirements found in §901.C of this Part.La. Admin.
