Section LV-523 - Implementation of the IEPA. Implementation of the IEP means that the student begins participating in the special education placement and related services as written on the IEP/placement document. A LEA must begin providing services as stated on the IEP within 10 calendar days. The date of initiation of services shall be noted on the IEP. When meetings occur during the summer or other vacation periods, a delay may occur. When meetings to develop the initial IEP/placement document occur just prior to the summer vacation, the date of implementation of services may be delayed to the beginning of the next school year if the parent(s) agree.La.
