Section LV-515 - Parental ConsentA. A LEA must obtain formal parental consent before it can initially provide a student with special education in any setting. Consent includes the following: 1. the parent and/or student has been fully informed of all relevant information in a manner that is clearly understandable to the parent and/or student; and2. the parent and/or student formally agree/agrees in writing.B. After the parent and/or student have/has given written consent, the IEP is in effect.
