Section CXXXI-525 - IntroductionA.1. There are five types of nonstandard teaching credentials issued in Louisiana: a. temporary authority to teach (TAT);b. out-of-field authorization to teach (OFAT);c. temporary employment permit (TEP);d. nonpublic temporary certificate (T); ande. resident teacher certificate (R).2. Nonstandard credentials are of a temporary nature but may be renewed under specified guidelines.C. Medical Excuse and Exceptions. Exceptions to policy will be considered in the case of serious medical condition or unavailability of required coursework or exams. When serious medical problems of the teacher or immediate family exist, a doctor statement is required. Also required is a letter of assurance from the teacher documenting that the unmet policy requirements will be completed within a specified time period, as determined by the LDOE. The final authority for approval and policy flexibility is at the discretion of the LDE in accordance with BESE policy.La. Admin. Code tit. 28, § CXXXI-525
