Section I-189 - Burial Furniture and Physical RemainsA. All burial furniture and physical remains removed from an Indian burial site are the property of the state of Louisiana in the event that no person appears who is a legal heir entitled to inherit the property of the Indian who is interred. Such burial furniture and remains that become property of the state shall be placed in the care and custody of the commission or a deputy custodian designated by the commission.La. Admin.
