Section IX-213 - Designated Sentence Durations that Exceed the Statutory Maximum SentenceA. If the minimum sentence duration provided by the sentence range in the appropriate cell of the grid exceeds the statutory maximum sentence for the offense of conviction, the court should impose the statutory maximum sentence unless mitigating circumstances justify imposition of a more lenient sentence.La.
