Section 69-15-25 - Handling disposable materials(a) Each practitioner shall dispose of disposable materials coming into contact with blood, body fluids, or both, in a sealable plastic bag that is separate from sealable trash or garbage liners or in a manner that protects not only the licensee and the client, but also others who may come into contact with the material, including sanitation workers. (b) Disposable, sharp objects that come in contact with blood or body fluids shall be disposed of in a sealable, rigid, puncture-proof container that is strong enough to protect the licensee, client, and others from accidental cuts or puncture wounds that could happen during the disposal process. (c) Licensees shall have either sealable plastic bags or sealable rigid containers available at the facility. (d) Each practitioner shall follow universal precautions in all cases. Kan. Admin.
