Section 1-68-2 - Purchase of a new motor vehicle during fiscal year 2011

(a) Each state agency that seeks to purchase a new motor vehicle during fiscal year 2011 shall be subject to the provisions of K.S.A. 75-3739 through K.S.A. 75-3740a, K.S.A. 75-37,102, and K.S.A. 75-4618 and amendments thereto.

(b) Each state agency that seeks to purchase a new motor vehicle without complying with subsection (a) shall meet the following requirements before the purchase of the new motor vehicle:

(1) Submit a written motor vehicle purchase request to the department of administration, division of budget, on a form authorized by the division of budget; and

(2) obtain approval to purchase the new motor vehicle from the department of administration, division of budget.

(c) The director of the division of purchases in the department of administration shall obtain the average fuel economy for each motor vehicle on contract and ensure that each motor vehicle purchased as specified in subsection (a) is life-cycle cost-effective.
