Rule 871-25.2 - Policy of the investigation and recovery unit

The policy of the investigation and recovery unit is to:

(1) Take aggressive action to prevent, detect, and deter benefits paid through error and to investigate and penalize fraud;

(2) Maximize the recovery of benefit overpayments; and

(3) Seek prosecution when the unit believes a person has committed a serious violation of the employment security law.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 96.11(1), 96.16, and 96.17(2).
