Rule 871-1.1 - [Effective 10/9/2024] Mission and overall organization

(1)Mission. We power Iowa's possibilities by connecting workers to opportunities and employers to workforce solutions.

(2)Vision. To create, enable and sustain the most future ready workforce in the nation.

(3)Overall organization. The chief executive officer of the department is the director of the department of workforce development who shall be appointed by the governor with the approval of two-thirds of the members of the senate and is responsible directly to the governor.
