Rule 761-425.60 - Right of inspection

(1) Peace officers have the authority to inspect vehicles or component parts of vehicles, business records, and manufacturers' certificates of origin, certificates of title and other evidence of ownership for all vehicles offered for sale.

(2) The department has the right at any time to verify compliance of a person licensed under Iowa Code chapter 322 or 322C or issued a certificate under Iowa Code section 321.59 with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 321.62, 321.95, 322.13, and 322C.1.
