Rule 641-3.5 - Screening the hearing of all newborns

All newborns and infants bom in Iowa, except those bom with a condition that is incompatible with life, shall be screened for hearing loss. The person required to perform the screening shall use at least one of the following procedures:

1. Automated or screening auditory brainstem response, or

2. Evoked otoacoustic emissions.
