The applicant shall secure liability insurance for the special event and shall name the department as an additional insured. Insurance information shall be available at the time the application is submitted. The applicant shall have a copy of the insurance policy available at the event location to present to department personnel if requested. These requirements shall not apply to events sponsored by a friends group. The department reserves the right to waive these requirements on a case-by-case basis.
