Rule 441-99.37 - Communication between parentsWhen a parent who has filed a petition to disestablish paternity requests assistance from the child support recovery unit in contacting the other parent, the child support recovery unit shall take the following actions if services are being provided by the child support recovery unit, the location of the nonrequesting party is known, and the child support recovery unit has been provided a copy of the petition to disestablish paternity.
(1)Written contact. The child support recovery unit shall send written notification to the nonrequesting parent of the requesting parent's desire to disestablish paternity and of the requesting parent's whereabouts. The notice shall state that the nonrequesting parent may cooperate in this action by filing a statement of the nonrequesting parent's current address or the name and address of the nonrequesting parent's attorney in the court file, or may contact the requesting parent with this information.(2)Notification of requesting parent. The child support recovery unit shall provide notification to the requesting party that contact was made with the nonrequesting party and that the nonrequesting parent may file a statement in the court file or may contact the requesting parent directly.Iowa Admin.
