In addition to meeting the requirements of rules 281-120.721 ( 34CFR303 ) through 281-120.723 ( 34CFR303 ), the department must conduct its own child count or use EIS providers to complete its child count. If the department uses EIS providers to complete its child count, then the department must establish procedures to be used by EIS providers in counting the number of children with disabilities receiving early intervention services; establish dates by which those EIS providers must report to the department to ensure that the state complies with subrule 120.721(1); obtain certification from each EIS provider that an unduplicated and accurate count has been made; aggregate the data from the count obtained from each EIS provider and prepare the report required under rules 281-120.721 ( 34CFR303 ) through 281-120.723 ( 34CFR303 ); and ensure that documentation is maintained to enable the department and the Secretary to audit the accuracy of the count.
