Rule 281-41.105 - Assistive technology(1)General. Each public agency must ensure that assistive technology devices or assistive technology services, or both, as those terms are defined in rules 281-41.5 (256B, 34CFR300) and 281-41.6 (256B, 34CFR300), respectively, are made available to a child with a disability if required as a part of the child's:a. Special education under rule 281-41.39 (256B, 34CFR300 );b. Related services under rule 281-41.34(256B, 34CFR300); orc. Supplementary aids and services under rule 281-41.42 (256B, 34CFR300) and paragraph 41.114(2)"b."(2)Use of assistive technology devices at home or in other settings. On a case-by-case basis, the use of school-purchased assistive technology devices in a child's home or in other settings is required if the child's IEP team determines that the child needs access to those devices in order to receive FAPE.Iowa Admin.
