Section 844 IAC 19-5-3 - Nutrition care process

Sec. 3.

The competent practice of dietetics includes engaging in a nutrition care process that includes using a systematic problem solving method that dietitians use to think critically and make decisions when providing medical nutrition therapy or addressing nutrition related problems and the provision of safe, effective, and high quality care. The nutrition care process consists of the following four (4) distinct but interrelated steps:

(1) Nutrition assessment.
(2) Nutrition diagnosis.
(3) Nutrition intervention.
(4) Nutrition monitoring.
