Section 675 IAC 29-2-2 - ASCE/SEI 7-10; minimum design loads for buildings and other structures

Sec. 2.

(a) Section 1.2.1 of Chapter 1, as contained at pages 1-2; Chapter 26, as contained at pages 187-201; Chapter 29, as contained at pages 249-255; Chapter 30, as contained at pages 257-297; and Chapter 31, as contained at page 299 of that certain document being titled ASCE/SEI 7-10 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures, Third Printing Errata Incorporated Includes Supplement 1, as published by the American Society of Civil Engineers, 1801 Alexander Bell Dr., Reston, VA 20191, are hereby adopted by reference as if fully set out in this article save and except those revisions made in this section.
(b) Section 1.2.1 of Chapter 1 is hereby amended as follows:
(1) The definition of "Authority Having Jurisdiction" is amended to read as follows: "Authority Having Jurisdiction" means the inspection authority.
(2) The definition of "Other Structures" is amended to read as follows: "Other Structures" means outdoor event equipment as defined in IC 22-12-1-17.7.
(3) The definition of "Temporary Facilities" is amended to read as follows: "Temporary Facilities" means temporary outdoor event equipment, as defined in 675 IAC 29-1-2(a).
(c) Section 26.2 of Chapter 26 is hereby amended to delete the definition of "Approved" and substitute as follows: APPROVED as to materials, equipment, design, and types of construction, means acceptance by the inspection authority by one (1) of the following methods:
(i) investigation or tests conducted by recognized authorities; or
(ii) investigation or tests conducted by technical or scientific organizations; or
(iii) accepted principles. The investigation, tests, or principles shall establish that the materials, equipment, and types of construction are safe for their intended purpose.
(d) The first sentence of Subsection 30.1.1 of Chapter 30 is hereby amended to read as follows: This chapter applies to the determination of wind pressures on components and cladding (C&C) on buildings, which, for purposes of this Chapter, includes Other Structures.
