Section 590 IAC 5-1.1-5 - "ALA accredited master's degree" defined

Sec. 5.

"ALA accredited master's degree" refers to study on the graduate level taken at an ALA accredited library school and validated by one (1) of the following diplomas or certificates, or the equivalent:

(1) Master of library science degree.
(2) Master of information science degree.
(3) Master of library and information science degree.
(4) Master's degree from a school librarianship education program.

To be considered an ALA accredited library school, the school must have been approved at the time courses were taken to fulfill Indiana certification requirements. Accredited status is retroactive to cover the academic year preceding the one in which the accreditation visit was made.
