Sec. 1.
(a) The definitions in this section apply throughout this rule.(b) "Board" means the state board of education.(c) "Curriculum" means the formal and informal programs expected by those who accept the mission and the goals of the school. The term includes curricular and extracurricular activities, instruction, school climate, and student services.(d) "Department" means the department of education.(e) "Governing body" means the board or committee with the primary responsibility for policy development and supervision of the school.(f) "Mission statement" means a clear and concise explanation that reflects the shared vision of the constituents of the school community and is a commitment to ensure the preservation of the mission in the day-to-day operation of the school.(g) "Nonpublic school" means any school that is not maintained by a public school corporation.
