Sec. 3.
The comprehensive system of personnel development established and implemented pursuant to this rule must:
(1) be consistent with the comprehensive system of personnel development required under Part B of the Act and 34 CFR 300.380 through 34 CFR 300.387;(2) provide for a continuum of training to be conducted on an interdisciplinary basis, to the extent appropriate;(3) provide for the training of a variety of traditional and nontraditional personnel needed to meet the requirements of the early intervention system, including:(A) public and private service providers;(B) primary referral sources;(C) persons who will serve as service coordinators; and(D) paraprofessionals; and(4) ensure that the training provided relates specifically to:(A) understanding the basic components of early intervention services available in the state;(B) meeting the interrelated social or emotional, health, developmental, and educational needs of children eligible for early intervention services;(C) assisting families in: (i) enhancing the development of their children; and(ii) in participating fully in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IFSPs;(D) implementing innovative strategies and activities for the recruitment and retention of early education service providers;(E) training personnel to work in rural and inner city areas; and(F) training personnel to coordinate transition services for infants and toddlers into, within, and from an early intervention program to preschool or other appropriate services.Division of Family Resources; 470 IAC 3.1-5-3; filed Jan 29, 1996, 5:15 p.m.: 19 IR 1337; errata filed Aug 7, 1996, 11:10 a.m.: 19 IR 3471; filed Mar 9, 1999, 2:05 p.m.: 22 IR 2257; readopted filed Jul 12, 2001, 1:40 p.m.: 24 IR 4235; readopted filed Oct 24, 2007, 11:25 a.m.: 20071121-IR-470070448RFA; readopted filed Aug 23, 2013, 3:36 p.m.: 20130918-IR-470130306RFAReadopted filed 11/13/2019, 11:56 a.m.: 20191211-IR-470190490RFA
