Sec. 64.
(a) The child caring institution shall have written policies and procedures which provide for visits with families, mail, telephone calls, and other forms of children's communication with family, friends, and significant others.(b) Denial of home visits shall be made only in accordance with the treatment plan as approved by the placing agency.(c) The child caring institution shall prohibit overnight visits with staff or persons other than the child's family except as such persons are identified by the treatment plan for the child and are approved by the placing agency.(d) The child caring institution shall make writing material available to children in care. Each child shall have privacy in handling his or her correspondence.(e) The child caring institution may require that a child open his or her mail in the presence of a staff member if there is reasonable fear that the contents other than the letter may harm the child or others.
