Section 410 IAC 1-2.5-50 - "Mantoux tuberculin skin test" or "TST" defined

Sec. 50.

"Mantoux tuberculin skin test" or "TST" means a skin test used to detect tuberculosis infection that is performed by injecting purified protein derivative (PPD) intradermally and measuring the reaction (induration or the palpable hardened area) in forty-eight (48) to seventy-two (72) hours after the injection. It is classified as positive or negative depending on the size of the induration and the patient's risk factors for tuberculosis.
