Sec. 1.
The purpose of this article is to establish policies, procedures, requirements, and standards to implement the environmental management laws as defined at IC 13-11-2-71. This article is being promulgated for the purpose of protecting and enhancing the quality of Indiana's environment and protecting the public health, safety, and well-being of its citizens. This article establishes a hazardous waste management program consistent with the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ( P.L. 94-580, 42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.), as amended (hereinafter referred to as RCRA), and regulations promulgated pursuant to RCRA. ( 40 CFR 260 through 40 CFR 270, 42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.)
