Sec. 168.1.
"Sensitive environment" means an area to which a solid waste land disposal facility poses a specific threat to the environment or to the public health because a small contamination release could have a significant impact. This may be due to proximity to other sensitive environments that include, but are not limited to:
(1) aquifers of significance;(2) public water supply systems;(3) wellhead protection areas;(4) drinking water supply reservoirs;(5) areas requiring special protection, such as:(C) the critical habitat of an endangered species;(6) areas containing highly permeable soils or bedrock formations, such as karst carbonate formations; or(7) other special circumstances.Solid Waste Management Board; 329 IAC 10-2-168.1; filed Mar 14, 1996, 5:00 p.m.: 19 IR 1783; filed Aug 2, 1999, 11:50 a.m.: 22 IR 3769
