Section 312 IAC 29-2-47 - "Drilling fluid" defined

Sec. 47.

"Drilling fluid" means any of a number of liquid and gaseous fluids and mixtures of fluids and solids as solid suspensions, mixtures and emulsions of liquids, gases, and other solids utilized during oil or gas drilling operations. Drilling fluid typically contains bentonitic clays, chemical additives, foaming agents, lubricants, emulsifiers, and weighting materials. Drilling fluid may also be referred to as drilling mud.
