Section 240.940 - Crude Oil Bottom SedimentsCrude oil bottom sediments removed from tanks, concrete storage structures and pits on a lease or unit may be:
a) transported by a permitted liquid oilfield waste hauler to an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) licensed special waste landfill, to an IEPA licensed off-site treatment facility, to a Class II injection well for disposal or to a crude oil bottom sediment recycling facility;b) injected in a well in accordance with Section 240.850(e)(1)(B);c) bioremediated on-site through land spreading in accordance with Section 240.891(a)(2); ord) used for road oiling on the lease or unit where the sediments were generated in accordance with Section 240.945.Ill.
