Section 2720.155 - Non-Resident Application for Benefitsa) A claimant who has worked in Illinois but lives outside Illinois may apply for benefits by filing a claim at the unemployment insurance office in the state or territory in which he or she resides. As soon as the individual becomes unemployed, he or she should report to the nearest unemployment insurance office and follow the procedures as directed by that office.b) A claimant who has worked in Illinois but lives outside Illinois may, at his or her option, file his or her claim in Illinois.Ill.
