Section 335.5020 - Safety InstructionIn addition to the requirements of 32 Ill. Adm. Code 400.120:
a) A licensee shall provide radiation safety instruction, prior to beginning work and at least annually, to personnel caring for patients or human research subjects who have been administered radioactive materials requiring a written directive. To satisfy this requirement, the instructions shall be commensurate with the duties of the personnel and shall include:1) Patient or human research subject control;2) Visitor control, including:A) Routine visitation to hospitalized individuals in accordance with 32 Ill. Adm. Code 340.310(a)(1); andB) Visitation authorized in accordance with 32 Ill. Adm. Code 340.310(c);3) Contamination control;5) Notification of the Radiation Safety Officer or his or her designee and the authorized user if the patient or the human research subject has a medical emergency or dies.b) A licensee shall maintain a record of safety instructions required by this Section for 5 years. The record shall include a list of the topics covered, the date of the instruction, the names of the attendees and the names of the individuals who provided the instruction.Ill. Admin.
