Section 16.02.10.510 - NEISSERIA MENINGITIDIS INVASIVE DISEASE01.Reporting Requirements. Each case or suspected case of Neisseria meningitidis invasive disease, including meningitis and septicemia, must be reported to the Department or Health District within one (1) working day of identification.02.Investigation. Each reported case of Neisseria meningitidis invasive disease must be investigated to confirm the diagnosis, identify clusters or outbreaks of the infection, identify contacts, and determine the need for antimicrobial prophylaxis or immunization of close contacts.03.Handling of Report. The Department and the Health District will exchange reported information within one (1) working day on any reported case of Neisseria meningitidis invasive disease.04.Restrictions - Daycare Facility. A person who is diagnosed with a disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis must not provide personal care to children, or attend a daycare facility, as long as the disease is present in a communicable form.05.Restrictions - Health Care Facility. A person with Neisseria meningitidis in a health care facility or residential care facility must be placed under respiratory isolation until twenty-four (24) hours after initiation of effective therapy.06.Restrictions - School. A person who is diagnosed with a disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis must not work in any occupation that involves direct contact with students, or attend a private, parochial, charter, or public school as long as the disease is present in a communicable form.Idaho Admin.
