The board has determined that there exists serious danger to the orchid industry of Hawaii from the introduction of the south american stem borer (Diorymerelluslaevimargo Champion), the south american orchid bug (Tenthecoris bicolor Scott), a midge (Parallelodiplosiscattleyae Molliard)), and other insects, and diseases of orchids, that are not now established in Hawaii.
