Section 3-177-553 - Voter service center; marksense ballots; spoiled(a) If a voter spoils a ballot in the process of voting, or receives a spoiled ballot, the voter shall be issued another ballot, by the voter service center officials. (b) Before issuing the new ballot, the voter service center official shall: (1) Give the voter a utility envelope, ask the voter to place the spoiled ballot in the envelope,: and seal the envelope;(2) Write 'spoiled' across the face of the envelope and sign the voter service Center official's name; (3) Deposit the utility envelope in the spoiled ballot envelope;(4) Write in the poll book, record book, application, or similar means of documenting matters 'spoiled ballot'; and(5) Have the voter place the voter's initials next to the words "spoiled ballot."(c) The voter service center officials shall, after the above procedures in subsection (b) are completed, give the voter a new ballot.
