Section 1704.2.4 is amended to read as follows:
"1704.2.4 Report requirement.
Special Inspectors shall keep records of special inspections and tests. The special inspector shall submit reports of special inspections and tests to the owner and licensed engineer or architect of record. Reports shall indicate whether the work inspected and tested was done in conformance to approved construction documents. Discrepancies shall be brought to the immediate attention of the contractor for correction, then, if uncorrected, to the licensed engineer or architect of record and to the building official. The special inspector shall submit a final signed report to the owner and licensed engineer or architect of record, stating whether the work requiring special inspection was, to the best of the inspector's knowledge, in conformance with the approved plans and specifications and the applicable workmanship provisions of this code".
Prior to the final inspection by the building official, the licensed engineer or architect of record shall submit a written statement verifying receipt of the final special inspection reports and documenting that there are no known unresolved code requirements that create significant public safety deficiencies.
