The payment of any claim brought under section 351, Hawaii Revised Statutes, shall be at the discretion of the commission and shall not exceed $10,000 per occurrence. Payment of compensation to the dependents of the deceased victim shall not, in the aggregate, exceed $10,000. Compensation will only be paid for those types of losses and injuries recognized by statute.
