Section 20-12-8 - Parking permits, violations, fees, and penalties(a) The board may establish fees for parking permits and for hourly or daily parking on the roadways and in the parking areas under the jurisdiction of the university. Parking fees shall be established at an open meeting of the board in accordance with the requirements of chapter 92, HRS.(b) Violations and their corresponding fines and penalties for nonpayment shall be as set forth in Attachment 1, entitled "Violations and Schedule of Fines and Penalties for Non-Payment for the University of Hawaii Campuses", dated November 17, 2016, and located at the end of this chapter. Violators may be subject to any or all of the following: citation, fines, non-payment penalties, and removal of vehicle. University employees or students may also be subject to additional penalties in accordance with university policies.(c) Non-payment penalties may be imposed if the fine is not paid or appealed within fifteen days after the issuance of the citation, as set forth in Attachment 1, entitled "Violations and Schedule of Fines and Penalties for Non-Payment for the University of Hawaii Campuses", dated November 17, 2016, and located at the end of this chapter.(d) Fines imposed shall be over and beyond removal and storage charges, if any.(e) The permit holder, the registered owner, or the driver of the vehicle shall be subject to the applicable fines and penalties described in subsections (b) and (c).(f) All fines and penalties shall be paid at the parking office, business office, administration office, or at any other office as the chancellor of the applicable campus designates.
