Section 17-2028-33 - Deconcentration(a) For federally-assisted public housing projects, the authority shall give priority to applicants to ensure that, to the maximum extent feasible, the housing projects will include families with a broad range of income generally representative of low-income families in the authority's area of operation. The authority shall not allow dwelling units to remain vacant awaiting an applicant who meets the appropriate income range.(b) The authority may not concentrate very low-income families in dwelling units in certain public housing projects or certain buildings within projects. Additionally, the authority may not concentrate higher income families in dwelling units in certain housing projects or certain buildings within projects.(c) In order to effectuate the policies stated in this section, the authority may reserve a certain percentage of dwelling units for applicant placement for applicants who do not qualify for a preference as described in section 17-2028-34.Haw.
