Section 17-912-2 - Goals of social services Social services provided under the provisions of title XX shall be directed at helping-eligible persons:
(1) Achieve or maintain economic self-support to prevent, reduce, or eliminate dependency on public assistance;(2) Achieve or maintain self-sufficiency, including reduction or prevention of dependency;(3) Prevent or remedy neglect, abuse, or exploitation of children unable to protect their own interests; or preserve, rehabilitate, or reunite families;(4) Prevent or reduce inappropriate institutional care by providing for community-based care, home-based care, or other forms of less intensive care; or(5) Secure admission to institutional care when other forms of care are not appropriate.[Eff 7/19/82; am and comp JUN 29 1992] (Auth: HRS § 346-14) (Imp: HRS § 346-14; 42 U.S.C. §1397 )
