Section 17-892.1-25 - Admission of children with handicaps(a) When children with handicaps are admitted into a group child care center or group child care home, the facility shall provide for the special needs of each child.(b) The handicapped child shall be admitted only after consultation with the child's source of health care and the program's health consultant occurs. The consultation shall include written recommendations to cover the child's special needs or to define the child's participation in the program.(c) If the child's health care source considers it advisable, the staff of the program shall receive training related to the nature of the child's disability and the child's potential for growth and development.(d) Where the nature of the child's handicap or the number of handicapped children in the program necessitates added care, staff and equipment shall be availalale to cover these requirements.Haw.
