Section 17-891.2-42 - Emergency care provisionsEvery child care facility shall have the following provisions for emergency care of any child requiring treatment at a hospital or clinic away from the child care setting and for care of a child who becomes ill after arrival as follows:
(1) The provider shall obtain the name of a physician or nearest hospital or clinic where care can be provided to the child;(2) The provider shall obtain written permission from the parents or guardians to allow the child to receive emergency care;(3) An adult shall accompany a child to the source of emergency care. The adult shall stay with the child until the parent or parent's designee assumes responsibility for the child's care. The selection of the adult shall not compromise the supervision of the other children in the program;(4) An operating telephone that is available and is easily accessible to the provider to be used in case of an emergency;(5) A first aid kit, emergency contact phone numbers, and medical treatment release forms on field trips; and(6) A plan for accessing a telephone when not in the usual location where care is being provided.Haw.
