Section 17-401.1-1 - Purpose
(a) The purpose of the State vocational rehabilitation (VR) services program is to assess, plan, develop, and provide VR services to assist eligible individuals with physical or mental impairments (disabilities) in preparing for, securing, retaining, or regaining employment which is consistent with their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests and informed choice.
(b) The program is authorized under title I of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, hereafter referred to as the Act ( 29 U.S.C. §§701 et seq.).
(c) The program must be implemented in accordance with final rules for the State VR services program promulgated by the Secretary of Education ( 34 C.F.R. Part 361).
