Section 17-1625-1 - Goals(a) The department shall provide temporary foster care placement of children and youth outside of their own home due to child abuse or neglect in a safe, stable and nurturing environment.(b) Foster care services shall be provided to the child and the child's family in a culturally competent manner that acknowledges and is sensitive to the strengths and needs of each child and the child's family.(c) Foster care services shall facilitate family connections by encouraging and facilitating sibling and other family visitation and contact on a frequent basis, as appropriate.(d) Foster care services shall be a resource to the foster child and the child's family while the child is in out-of-home placement.[Eff DEC 09 2010] (Auth: HRS §§ 346-14, 350-2) (Imp: HRS § 350-2)
