The referee shall inspect the boxers and the gloves and make sure that no foreign substances have been applied to either gloves or the bodies of boxers to the detriment of an opponent. The use of a reasonable amount of vaseline or similar compound on the face is permitted. They may not be used on the hair, body or gloves. The referee will be the judge as to reasonable amount.
