Section 16-74-435 - Physical condition

One of the most important duties of a referee is to observe carefully the physical well-being of a boxer. If a contest becomes too one-sided and one of the contestants is receiving unnecessary punishment by reason of the superiority of the other, or, if in the opinion of the referee, one of the contestants by reason of the punishment which he received, is unable to emerge the victor in a contest, the contest shall be stopped in favor of the superior boxer in order, and only in order, to prevent unnecessary punishment likely to produce great bodily harm or injury.
