The commission shall retain all documents filed with or presented to the commission in the files of the commission. However, the chairperson or presiding officer may permit a party to withdraw original documents submitted by a party upon submission of properly authenticated copies to replace the original documents. The party shall not withdraw the original documents until it has submitted the authenticated copies and it has given to the chief clerk a receipt, specifying the date and identifying the original documents withdrawn.
